Mount Snow opens October 17, first in Vermont for skiing and snowboarding

I’m so proud of my home mountain. Without an inch of natural snowfall, Mount Snow’s magic fan guns have managed to lay down enough snow for an opening of October 17th, 2009. Mount Snow is the first ski resort in Vermont to open.

Now granted it’s only one run on Discovery, a small hill in the base area but Gaitor and the Mount Snow Park Rangers have been out all week long setting up rails moved over from Carinthia, our all mountain terrain park. Check out Mount Snow’s website for photos of the day.

Lift tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $10 or 10 non-perishable food items. All the money and food will be donated to the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry. Not only do you have the chance to test out your gear, warm up those thighs, but you’ll be doing it for a great cause.
