Luxury Townhomes at a Great Value!

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

Looking for a newly constructed townhouse in the Mount Snow Valley at a tremendous value?  Haystack Highlands townhomes have been recently reduced.  There are 4 units currently available for sale.  Two are move in ready (N1 and M1) and two are just about complete, and there is still time to customize some of the fixtures and finishes.  There are 3 floor plans to choose from: N1 at $375,000 has fairway views and southern exposure with 2 levels completed and an unfinished lower level ready for completion based on homeowner needs.  M1 at $399,000 has 3 completed levels with an oversized 1 car garage. R1 at $349,000 is a two level unit with a more private location and R2 at $359,000 is a two level unit with an amazing view of the 12th fairway. Each unit is beautifully designed with upscale finishes and fixtures including a true fieldstone fireplace and 20 ft exposed beams ceiling in the great room.  These townhomes are adjacent to the Haystack Golf Course and just a 10 minute drive to skiing and riding at Mount Snow.  Call us at SkiHome Realty to arrange a viewing at (802) 464-2366 or check out the website www.HaystackHighlands.com for additional details.

Mount Snow Opens Monday!

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

Mother Nature finally played the winter card. Yesterday we got an assault and were blessed with 5 inches of real natural snow. Vermont finally looks like winter.

The cold weather has also allowed Mount Snow to have 178 snow guns running for two days and they plan to open top to bottom skiing and riding tomorrow, Monday morning December 7th.

Thinking of coming out to check out the snow? We’ve got early season pricing and discounted lift tickets on Seasons trailside rentals. Starting at $71/day/person.

Snowmaking at Mount Snow

Snowmaking at Mount Snow

Well Mother Nature has not been kind to Mount Snow this year. Last weekend, Thanksgiving is usually the first big weekend of the season. Not this year. Yes people came up but not in the usual numbers. Initially we had 4 rental reservations, but 3 of those canceled when they heard that the mountain was not going to be open for skiing or riding.

The weekend did bless us with a little snow storm. I was out of town but driving back into town I looked up at the mountain and all the trails were white. What a great feeling! The mountain then took advantage of cold temperatures and pounded the mountain for a full day. Things were looking good until last night we had 10 hours of pouring rain and guess what? The trails are no longer white.

The mountain is aiming for opening top to bottom runs this weekend but if they can manage it, it will only be by Sunday.

So hold thumbs that they’ll make it for this weekend. I know they’ll get it done if it is at all possible. These guys know their snow. Keep track of their progress on their website or check back  here. I’ll be sure to post when they open.

They’ll definitely be open by Monday – great excuse for a midweek getaway? 2 bedroom Seasons rentals are still at early season prices of $175/night!
